The Story Behind the Sawdust

A Hobby That Got Out of Hand (In the Best Way)

Reswood Creations didn't start as a business. It started as a way to keep an ADHD mind busy — hands moving, brain occupied, something real taking shape at the end of it. Turns out resin and timber are the perfect outlet: enough planning to stay interesting, enough waiting to teach patience, and enough surprise in every pour that no two days at the bench are the same.

For a while, the pieces were just for me. Then friends started asking for them. Then friends of friends. Somewhere along the way, something I made because I appreciated it became something other people appreciated too — and honestly, that never stops feeling great.

Why Resin and Wood?

Because they're opposites that belong together. Timber is warm, organic, and full of history — every ring is a year, every knot is a branch that once caught the sun. Resin is the opposite: fluid, glassy, impossibly deep. When you pour one into the other, you get something neither could be on its own. I'm a bit obsessed with that moment.

Our Materials

I work mostly with Australian timbers — Camphor Laurel, Huon Pine, Jarrah, Flame Sheoak and whatever interesting slabs I can rescue, much of it salvaged or locally sourced. The resin side gets the same care: premium-grade resins tinted with hand-selected mica powders, and I'm always hunting for the richest colours to complement each piece of wood.

The Honest Bit

Handmade means truly handmade.

You'll find tiny imperfections, timber grain that follows its own path, and resin pours that can never be replicated. These aren't defects—they're the marks of genuine craftsmanship and prove that each piece was created by hand, not by a production line.

It's these unique characteristics that give every creation its own personality, ensuring no two pieces are ever exactly the same.
